Are they gone or am I crazy?
So here is my story, about 2.5 months ago I noticed a small patch of rash on my abdomen, it never itched but was more sensitive and painful. I brushed it off and it went away within a week, yet a few weeks later my husband was complaining of how itchy he was and has rashes up and down his torso, it was then I started to feel itchy a bit too. We changed our detergent, etc. until I was googling what the issue would be and it led to scabies. We went to the clinic and was prescribed Ivermectin and took it as advised one week apart. A week or two later the itching was nonstop on my scalp and in my nose. We went back to the clinic and were given permetrhin. We used the permethrin for 3 weeks, but my scalp was still itchy. We cleaned like crazy bathed our dogs, still doing so actually. We became desperate and bought the horse ivermection and have been taking that and made our own permethrin cream as the clinic says they do not see anything on us so they will no longer treat for scabies. I never found track marks on either of us and each only had a rash for a week. I FEEL these things crawling only on my feet (no marks at all) and itch all over. My husband became super itchy from using sulfur (possibly confusing it with scabies after a few weeks) and now says he is back to normal. I continue to have an extremely itchy nose, slightly itchy scalp and crawling on my feet. I do not want to shave my head, but I am losing my mind over this. My skin is becoming tore up from using the permethrin and sulfur soaps. I have tea tree oil and using sulfur shampoo, I think it only puts them at bay. Please help!
The itching isn't caused by the crawling of the mites, it's your bodies allergic reaction to a foreign body. And that means that dead mites and their excrements are going to itch as well and that's why even when getting rid of them you'll still feel itchy for a while.
If you're having trouble with your skin, go to a local pharmacy and ask for 99% Aloe Vera gel.
Aloe Vera gel is extremelly good for your skin and moistrouzes it as well.
It also kills scabies, there's been a small study on 16 people, where 14 people recovered from scabies after 2 treatments with pure aloe vera.
If your scalp is really itchy try getting Lindane shampoo (which is against scabies also, contains permethrin) and you'll see if it was maybe the sulphur irritating you?
If the itching is so harsh try getting some antihistamine which will stop the itchiness but it won't cure scabies.
