Manuka honey is a unique honey found in Australia and New Zealand. It’s been proven to be great for many skin ailments, such as staph infections, fungal infections, MRSA, among others.
But what about for scabies?
Unfortunately, there are no known cases of manuka honey being an effective scabies treatment.
This makes sense. Manuka honey is known for its antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Scabies are not a virus, bacteria or fungus. They are mites!
Therefore the only way to get rid of scabies is to use proven treatments that are known to have insecticidal or pesticidal properties. These are things such as tea tree oil, sulfur, neem oil and so on.
If you are currently suffering from scabies and are trying to use manuka honey as a treatment, I would suggest that you stop and change to something proven. Of course you can continue to take manuka honey internally, as it is great for your immune system and may even help your skin recover after your scabies infestation has been cleared, but as for treating scabies itself you will need to look elsewhere.
